For 20+ years, Dr. Ashlee Pierson served in several capacities in healthcare and ministry. Ashlee completed her higher education studies at CUNY’s New York City College of Technology receiving both her Associate and Baccalaureate degrees in Human Services. She attended Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary located in Elkhart, Indiana where she earned a Master of Divinity. She also earned a Master of Social Work at Andrews University located in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Ashlee values education, innovation, and the intersectionality of Christian faith/spirituality and psychological wellbeing. Dr. Ashlee earned a Doctorate in Social Work (macro-clinical) from the University of Southern California as her dissertation/capstone focused on suicide of Black youth and how religious and faith communities can be of assistance in eradicating and/or reducing the rising rates of suicide. She intentionally puts her knowledge into practice no matter where she finds herself.
Dr. Ashlee's aim is to educate, serve, advocate, support, and empower those who have experienced trauma as she also can relate. She avails herself to the BIPOC population, especially within the urban clinics and Christian churches. Dr. Ashlee challenges the miseducation, stigma and shame in her seminars and authorship (4 publications). She is on a mission to dismantle barriers and myths to continuously be an agent of healing in the United States and in the Caribbean. Dr. Ashlee assists individuals to talk out their trauma, crises, and challenges without shame and embarrassment to begin their journey of healing and becoming whole.
Dr. Ashlee Pierson has a private practice and is based in New York City. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified in trauma-informed engagement, in spiritual integrated psychotherapy, in dialectical and cognitive behavioral therapies, in mindfulness, professional coaching, DEI, and with foundational biblical principles to address clinical diagnoses, disorders, and the unique issues of life. With compassion, Dr. Ashlee is dedicated to her career and call to ministry.
